Hey y’all, It’s Sunday! Today we’re having our Freedom Celebration after church! Fun stuff! Last week our pastor preached about FREEDOM. It was a very very good message with several relevant scriptures mentioned that I’ve read through a few times this week. Walking in FREEDOM in Christ is something I’ve always wanted. It’s literally the name of the Bible study I attend, and in my opinion it should be a goal all Christians have. To be FREE Indeed!
My devotional scripture this morning cuts deep. This scripture reminds us that it is our duty to Obey the Lord. Just because our sins are forgiven, doesn’t mean that we can keep living in sin and bondage. When we walk in bondage, we can never truly walk in the FREEDOM that the Lord has for us. We are called to more than just being born again. Jesus wants us to know Him deeply, intimately. Walking in sin keeps us from getting to know Him more. It keeps us from fully walking in what He has for us. That’s why everyday we need to evaluate our lives and start cutting that sin out of lives. Repentance in this hour is so important. Repent meaning to give up and turn away from. Whatever it takes to walk in what He has for me is worth it.
Fearing God is something that comes naturally for most of us to some degree. Obeying not so much.
I pray that the Holy Spirit convicts me to walk in obedience to the Lord. So that I can grow deeper and know Him more. Share His love and grace daily. Even in the hard times. Even when I physically can’t get out of bed or when I’m discouraged. And I pray that for all of my readers, family, and friends. In Jesus name. Amen.
